In
2005, the Greater Manchester Family YMCA raised over $225,000
during its annual Reach Out for Youth and Families
Campaign. Add this to funds secured from program
grants, United Way contributions, and other operating
resources, and the total financial assistance distributed
by the YMCA jumps to $776,038—allowing us to positively
impact the lives of 7,607 individuals.
Reach Out for Youth and Families, the
largest component of this support, specifically provides
scholarship assistance to people in need. Over 3,000 individuals
and families were served in 2004. As part of this outreach,
YMCA Camps Mi-Te-Na and Foss give out scholarships each
year to campers who otherwise would not be able to afford
to attend camp.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, all
individual donations go directly into the scholarship
fund. Donations provide financial assistance to those
who simply cannot afford to participate in YMCA programs
and services. Breakout of funds by category include:
22%
Community Outreach and Teen Services
28%
YMCA Memberships
20%
Day and Overnight Camp Scholarships
30%
Program and Child Care Support
